The Isle of Axholme Choral Society was founded in 1981 with a group of around twenty singers who came together to give performances for friends and subscribers.
The Society has grown both in numbers and stature and 25 years later we have approximately 40 members.
The Choral Society has four main concert venues. The parish churches of St Nicholas at Haxey, St Martin's at Owston Ferry, St Andrew's at Epworth and also the Wesley Memorial Methodist Church at Epworth.
We aim to produce at least three Concerts per year. A Christmas concert
The Easter Concert is our major performance with a compliment of a full professional symphony orchestra and soloists. The Summer Concert is of a lighter nature with extracts from operettas and rousing choruses from the Proms; and the Christmas concert with seasonal music.

The Society is affiliated to "Making Music" and sponsored by "Awards for All".

Subscriptions are £48.00 per annum.
No audition is required and membership is open to all ages and abilities

Formed in 2009 the Company is dedicated to offering amateurs in Lincolnshire the opportunity to perform in Light Opera and in particular Gilbert and Sullivan operettas.

It is hoping to follow in the footsteps of the now sadly closed Lincoln Gilbert and Sullivan Society which was formed in 1966 but Kay Darbyshire. The creation of the new Society was inspired by a promise made to Kay to bring Gilbert and Sullivan back to Lincoln.

The present society originated as the choral group of Southwell Arts Society in 1959.
Its popularity increased and in 1964 Southwell Choral Society emerged under the leadership of founder conductor Peter Wood.
The present conductor, Nicholas Thorpe, took over when Peter retired in November 1997.

The society now has over 100 active singing members and a thriving group of non-singing Friends of Southwell Choral Society.

The society aims to:
Promote the choral tradition by involving the community in making music at all levels.
Offer quality performances of the classic repertoire and encourage modern composers by     performing newer lesser-known works
Involve young people by encouraging them to join Southwell Junior Choral and participate in     performances.

The choir takes part in other concerts such as ‘Carols For All’ in the Minster, and has taken part in trips abroad.

Autumn and Spring concerts are performed in the setting of the historic Minster and in the Summer at other local venues.

Rehearsals take place weekly in term-time in the main hall of
Minster School, Nottingham Road, Southwell. NG25 0LG                     Click HERE for map

The Lincoln Singers started life as the acting voluntary choir for Lincoln Cathedral.
It now operates as an ad hoc choir visiting cathedrals and notable churches around the country, singing services, often for whole weekends, and occasionally performing recitals.

Rehearsals are planned according to the needs of the group. Members need to have experience and good reading/learning abilities.

Contact the conductor.
