‘Local Musicians in Local Churches’
The Fenland Consort is a group of Lincolnshire-based musicians of which 6-9 members form the permanent core.

Founded at the end of 2007, we have given concerts in which baroque music has been performed in local churches in the Fenland region.

Our repertoire is based on well-known composers of the baroque period, such as Georg Philipp Telemann, Georg Friedrich Händel, Henry Purcell and Johann Christian Bach; but also less well-known composers such as Johann Joachim Quantz, Jacques-Martin Hotteterre, Joseph Bodin de Boismortier, Johann Adolph Hasse, Alessandro Marcello, C.F. Abel, Georg Christoph Wagenseil and John Stanley.
Music from various periods , classical to modern, is being added to the repertoire for future events.

The Isle of Axholme Orchestra is not a youth orchestra but an amateur orchestra for players of all ages, who are keen to play orchestral music together. It provides an orchestral opportunity for instrumental players from a wide area. From the beginning it has been guided, encouraged and developed by its conductor.

The orchestra gives three concerts each year, two of them in South Axholme Community School and a third in a community venue in the area. In recent years this has been held in the John Leggot College in Scunthorpe.

The Orchestra rehearses on Tuesdays in the School Hall at South Axholme Community School, in Epworth, from 7.00pm to 9.00pm.         Click HERE for Map

The orchestra is always keen to welcome new members who would like to join its growing ranks. For further details, contact Ruth Birkett or visit the web site.
