Music Director: Crauford Thomson
Accompanist: Heather Benson
Chairman: Brian Cropley
Secretary: Steve Griffiths
Treasurer: Ron Travis
Until 2018 we performed 10-12 concerts every year around the city and county in a wide variety of venues. However, from January 2019, we have taken the decision to move away from monthly concerts and instead perform two or three really big concerts each year in major concert venues in and around the city. Each concert will be themed and we will be advertising and encouraging new members to join us specifically for each concert. Our first concert entitled 'Broadway To The West End' will be on Friday, 17th May 2019 at the Terry O'Toole Theatre in North Hykeham. We hope to welcome new members even if they stay for just one concert at a time, but of course we hope they will stay longer.
We do not audition new members but allow them to join in our weekly rehearsal - held every Tuesday at 7.30pm until 9pm in the Trinity United Reformed Church in St Martin's Square just at the top of Lincoln High Strteet - and settle in whichever voice part they feel best suited to sing, whether first tenor, second tenor, baritone or bass.
We enjoy singing and performing to audiences of all ages and from all walks of life. We have a very wide repertoire of songs including folk songs, excerpts from musicals, ballads, seasonal religious music, and even more modern popular songs that the younger generation will know.
All details are at www.cityoflincolnmvc.org.uk
We have no age limit; our criteria is simply that you are male and have a love of singing. You are invited to join us and find out just how enjoyable choir singing can be.

The Elizabethan Singers, Alford
The Elizabethan Singers, Alford
Although we are called The Elizabethan Singers our repertoire goes far beyond music from the 16th and 17th centuries. We really enjoy singing this, but equally we love a wide range of music from the Baroque period to the present day.
We have a large sacred repertoire, and in recent concerts have sung Vivaldi’s Gloria, Fauré’s Requiem and Dvořák’s Mass in D.
A particular passion is singing high quality harmony arrangements of 20th century popular music. This includes songs from the golden era of Broadway, including the unforgettable music of Gershwin and Cole Porter.
Whatever our programme, our aim is to make music expressive, exciting and accessible through enthusiastic, vibrant performances.
We are always looking for new members who share our passion.
For information, bookings and membership details, please contact the Musical Director.

Their programmes are often themed and include contrasting pieces from a variety of styles and periods. Recent performances have included Bach’s St John Passion, Requiems by Schumann , Victoria and Howells, and smaller pieces ranging from the 16th to 21st centuries by composers as varied as Palestrina, Tomkins, Bruckner, Macmillan and Sumsion.
The choir performs in venues both in the city of Lincoln and around the county, having visited Louth and Stow in recent years. It also has strong links with the Neustadter Stiftskantorei in Lincoln’s twin city of Neustadt an der Weinstrasse in Germany and visited them for a few days in October 2010.
