City of Lincoln Male Voice Choir

Music Director: Crauford Thomson

Accompanist: Heather Benson

Chairman: Brian Cropley

Secretary: Steve Griffiths

Treasurer: Ron Travis

Until 2018 we performed 10-12 concerts every year around the city and county in a wide variety of venues. However, from January 2019, we have taken the decision to move away from monthly concerts and instead perform one really big concert each year in a major concert venue in and around the city. We would continue with up to 5 smaller concerts especially to raise funds for charity.  Each major concert will be themed and we will be advertising and encouraging new members to join us specifically for each concert. In May 2019 we performed our first major concert entitled 'Broadway To The West End' at the Terry O'Toole Theatre in North Hykeham. In addition, we held smaller concerts to support the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal and the RAF Association Wings Appeal.  In June 2020 we return to the Terry O'Toole Theatre for a major concert entitled 'Movie Music'.

We do not audition new members but allow them to join in our weekly rehearsal - held every Tuesday at 7.30pm until 9pm in the Trinity United Reformed Church in St Martin's Square just at the top of Lincoln High Street - and settle in whichever voice part they feel best suited to sing, whether first tenor, second tenor, baritone or bass.

We enjoy singing and performing to audiences of all ages and from all walks of life. We have a very wide repertoire of songs including folk songs, excerpts from musicals, ballads, seasonal religious music, and even more modern popular songs that the younger generation will know.

All details are at

We have no age limit; our criteria is simply that you are male and have a love of singing. You are invited to join us and find out just how enjoyable choir singing can be.

The Elizabethan Singers, Alford
The Elizabethan Singers, Alford

Musical Director: Andrew Willoughby
Telephone: 07941 946704

Chairman: Kirsty Meik

Secretary: Gay Wilson

Although we are called The Elizabethan Singers our repertoire goes far beyond music from the 16th and 17th centuries.  We really enjoy singing this, but equally we love a wide range of music from the Baroque period to the present day.

We have a large sacred repertoire, and in recent concerts have sung Vivaldi’s Gloria, Fauré’s Requiem and Dvořák’s Mass in D.

A particular passion is singing high quality harmony arrangements of 20th century popular music.  This includes songs from the golden era of Broadway, including the unforgettable music of Gershwin and Cole Porter.

Whatever our programme, our aim is to make music expressive, exciting and accessible through enthusiastic, vibrant performances.

We are always looking for new members who share our passion.

For information, bookings and membership details, please contact the Musical Director.
